The three-step transfer
The sender and receiver stay in control of the session from their own browsers.

Choose the sending device
Open SendIt where the file currently lives and create a transfer session.

Pair the receiving device
Scan the invitation QR code or enter the session PIN. Confirm the security number when PIN pairing requests it.

Transfer and download
Send the file or message and download it from the receiving device when it arrives.

Useful device combinations
Use SendIt for phone-to-laptop, PC-to-PC, Mac-to-Android, tablet-to-desktop, or other combinations supported by modern browsers. The two devices do not need to use the same manufacturer or sign into the same account.
A paired session can carry files, text, links, and clipboard content, which makes it useful for both full documents and small pieces of information that are awkward to retype.

How the session is protected
QR invitations carry secret material in the URL fragment. The receiving browser imports that secret and removes it from the address bar; fragments are not sent to the relay as part of the web request.
PIN-only sessions use an ephemeral P-256 key agreement. Both devices compare the same eight-digit number before the session is trusted.

Can I send a message instead of a file?
Yes. Paired sessions support text, links, clipboard content, and files.
Does SendIt keep a transfer history on the server?
SendIt does not store a server-side transfer history. Some local interface history can remain in the browser until it is cleared.
What information can the service still see?
Routing requires limited metadata such as connection timing, session identifiers, transfer size, and connection information. File contents and protected metadata are encrypted.
